How to Export Data from ApekSurv
Whether you're a surveyor in the field or a beginner learning how to use ApekSurv, exporting your collected data is a key step in the workflow. In this post, we'll walk you through how to export your project data in .dat format and view it on your computer using Notepad.
🛠️ What You'll Need:

A data collector device with the ApekSurv app installed

A completed survey project ready for export

A USB cable to connect your device to a computer

A computer (Windows recommended)
🔄 Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open ApekSurv
Launch the ApekSurv software on your data collector.
Step 2: Go to Project Manager
Tap Project Manager, find the project you want to export, and tap Open.
Step 3: Export the Data
Once you're in the project page:

Tap Export Data

(Optional) Enter a custom Project Name for your export file

Under Choose Export File Format, select Class Format (.dat)

Choose the appropriate Distance Unit (meters, feet, etc.)

Tap Export
You'll see a reminder box:
“The file is exported successfully.”
Tap Export Path to confirm the file location:
📁 Internal Storage > ApekSurv > Export
💻 Step 4: Transfer the File to Your Computer

Connect your data collector to your PC using a USB cable

Open This PC (or My Computer)

Click on your connected device

Navigate to:
Internal Shared Storage > ApekSurv > Export -
Find the file you just exported
📂 Step 5: Copy and Open the File

Copy the file to a folder on your desktop

Right-click on the file

Choose Open with > Notepad
Now you can view the exported data in plain text format. ✅
